In a spray bottle mix of a cup of water with a cup of white vinegar or apple cider vinegar and 20 drops of tea tree oil. Some sprays depending on the other essential oil may be used on children and pets too. Mix a teaspoon of tea tree with a gallon of water. Add 10 drops of tea tree oil to 250 mls of white vinegar and 250 mls water in a spray bottle.

Tea tree oil distilled from leaves of the australian paperbark tree is known for its antiseptic properties. Whilst the combination of baking soda and vinegar is useful adding tea tree oil into the mix makes for a deeper and wonderful smelling clean. Spray on any surface such as kitchen countertops or floor and then wipe up. Avoid using on granite or marble though as this solution could damage the stone.

Shake before each use. Tea tree oil contains anti fungal and anti bacterial properties making it the ideal essential oil to use for cleaning around your home. Or use it in a bucket. One study found that 24 hours after being treated with tea tree oil cows had 61 fewer flies than cows not treated with tea tree oil furthermore.

Tea tree oil may help keep pesky insects away. Combine 15 drops of tea tree oil and peppermint oil with water and witch hazel for example.
